Ask me about my story,
and I might tell you- but I might not.
We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. (Revelations 12:11)
So why is it so hard to be real? Why is it so hard to for us to come together and be people that people can be safe with and share their struggles with?
You might not agree with this but the church with no struggles, with no shortfalls, with no mistakes is no church at all.
Because what makes church-church- are the PEOPLE.
And I know I'm not perfect, and neither are you. Neither is the Pastor, and neither is the person praying for you on the prayer team.
But there is too much of a "shush shush" culture, when that is exactly what the enemy wants!
HE WANTS TO SILENCE YOU AND KEEP YOU SILENT.
HE WANTS TO ISOLATE YOU TO THE CONFINEMENT OF YOUR MIND SO THAT YOU DON'T REACH OUT TO SOMEONE AROUND YOU AND FIND FREEDOM.
But it's scary to speak up. It's scary to be vulnerable. It's almost a weakness to share what you're struggling with- when the opposite is true.
To trust enough to be vulnerable requires great strength.
Be wise with who you share with.
I've spent the majority of my life with no voice.
Yes, I could talk but I could not speak, I could not defend myself, I did not know how to express everything I was feeling inside.
Do you know what brought freedom? (Yes, Jesus brought freedom)- but the moment I SPOKE UP (which was incredibly difficult), I tasted freedom.
There are many verses in the New Testament that talk about the things that are hidden being revealed- specifically that "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known" (Luke 12:2)
And it's like- now that I'm free from the constraint of bondage placed on me by what was done to me and what I chose to do- I want to share my story! BUT IT IS SCARY TO SHARE YOUR STORY- because for me, the things I now want to share are the very things I sought to keep hidden MY WHOLE LIFE.
It's scary to think about these things being known BUT we were never intended to live with shame. We were never intended to live restricted or limited by the secrets that we seek to hide!
There is a release from the grip of the enemy that comes when you confide in someone whom you trust.
Be wise with who you speak with, but do not carry everything upon your own shoulders alone.
We were made for community. We were made to love and celebrate one another, to call each other higher.
If someone stumbles, we do not beat them down, but we help them up and show them how to walk, so that eventually they can run and not stumble.
We are called to love.
Know that you are not alone in your struggles, you are not alone in your walk, you are not alone in this journey.
If there is something weighing on your heart, please find someone trustworthy to speak with.
If there is something from your past flaring up, please find someone trustworthy to speak with.
If you don't know who to speak with, I AM AVAILABLE for you. I want to see you walking in freedom, whole and thriving, because you have experienced healing, breakthrough, deliverance and love.
Love y'all! Thanks for keeping up with my page!
