I'm getting on a plane tomorrow to head back to Washington, D.C. and staff David's Tent DC (davidstentdc.org) full-time for, I believe, 3 more months. I haven't physically been at David's Tent since November 10th, actually. I lead an outreach to Greece and Albania and then headed home to rest. It almost feels like a distant reality- the whole thought of going back seems surreal. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited to get back and jump into the fullness that God has for me at David's Tent because I know He has good plans, and I am willing and available to be used by Him.
My pastors moved their family to Georgia to pioneer a ministry that is fully God-breathed and inspired. This past Saturday, January 28th, they had a Generals Summit fundraiser to really launch their ministry Raised2walk. You see, God has been speaking to me about Georgia since 2013. I had no connections in Georgia or any grid for it, but I knew the Lord had and has plans for me in Georgia. When my pastor moved his family to Georgia, I knew in my spirit and heart that I would somehow be a part of what the Lord would be doing in and through Raised2walk.
The prayer and desire that the Lord answered and fulfilled was my desire to attend and be a part of the General's Summit. I had no idea if it would be possible because I would need both the time off and the resources to get to Georgia. I prayed and asked Jesus to make a way, and I felt peace in my heart to RSVP with a "Yes" to attend the General's Summit. Long story short, the Lord guided me in my search for flights, and gave me the absolute best deals on flights. I was literally amazed. I actually found one good flight and was ready to purchase it, when the Lord asked me to check a different airlines, and I found an EVEN BETTER deal. The Lord works all things out for our good. There is a better way, and it's God's way.
Don't be afraid to be bold and specific when you approach God. He is a good good Father who has good plans for you! This is because He loves you! I didn't have to go to the General's Summit but it was a huge desire of my heart, and the Lord made a way! I know it was His desire too! Our prayers do not fall on deaf ears, but they are heard by the God who actually is alive and can do something about it! So please pursue Jesus, seek Him, trust Him, believe that He is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do. No prayer is too big or too small, simply speak to your Father in Heaven. Let your prayers and your faith move mountains. Trust His answer, as well, because whether His response or actions are exactly what you hoped for, you can rest knowing that it will be what is best for you. God is faithful to meet your needs, and He is even kind enough to fulfill desires of your heart.
So take courage. Be bold. Walk in peace and purpose. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and spirit. You are seen, known and loved.
