I found myself battling insecurity yesterday. I care a lot about what people think! But I can't help but think that I am not supposed to feel insecure, because I am securely rooted in the love of the Lord.
So when insecurity hit me yesterday, I started to become sad but then I reached a "fork in the road" and had to make a decision- would I wallow in insecurity or would I turn to my Heavenly Father? As you can probably imagine, I chose to turn to the Lord.
We can't keep turning to people or to the world and expect them to satisfy us. Yes, God uses people to meet our needs, but ultimately we were made for GOD, and we truly find all we need in HIM!
Simply said, I told the Lord:

Simply said, I told the Lord:
"Papa, this insecurity shows me there is a hole, a place in my heart that I need you to fill. Please meet me here where I am, let me find my confidence and security in you. Let me be full of all that You intend me to be full of. You are the One I need."
One of the things I am asking the Lord for the most in this season, and I believe it will continue on past this season, is for deeper revelation and understanding of His love. I want to constantly go deeper and grow in His love. His love is pure, His love is perfect, His love restores me, and in His love I find my purpose, identity, security, beauty, confidence and all that I am. I'm convinced that the deeper and more securely I am rooted in His love, the less insecurity will take a hold in my life. We were not made to listen to the lies of the world, we were made to hear and know the voice of our God. The more we know His voice the less we fall for voices that are not His.
And it's clear that the Lord loves us. Don't let people, don't let your earthly fathers, or men on earth dictate the way you see your Father in Heaven. People are imperfect but Abba Father is not. He is Love and He loves YOU. People may let you down, people may hurt you, but Abba God will NEVER hurt you or let you down. He can be fully trusted. Let Him remind you who you are. Let Him break off what hinders, and let Him fill you to the brim with His truth, love, understanding, grace, etc.. He's a good Father. Jesus is the Lover of your soul. Holy Spirit dwells within you. You're not alone. Find security in the Lord.
Learn to run all the more to Jesus when insecurity enters your heart. He is the One who satisfies, He is the One who restores, He is the One in whom we find confidence and all we need. And be honest with the Lord about what you need. Trust that He will give you what you need simply because you are His son or daughter, and He is your good Father!

Luke 11:9-13
"So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Come to the Lord as you are- He will fill you and give you what you need. Turn to Him before you turn anywhere else. He is available and He is willing because He loves you and has your best interest in mind. You will not be disappointed when you turn to the Lord, simply trust His sovereignty, will and timing. You can be confident and secure in who you are because YOU ARE LOVED BY GOD.
So my best suggestion for combating insecurity is to run all the more to Jesus. Let Him remind you who you are as He washes over you with truth and love.
