I love Jesus. I love Him with all my heart. I find it to be such an immense privilege to follow Him wherever He leads.
In September God asked me if I would be willing to staff David's Tent full-time. He literally confirmed it so many times that I would be an utter fool to say no. I found it hard to think about leaving my Kona community to go someplace unknown, but I knew I wasn't going alone. Rather, God was coming with me as He was divinely leading me into this new season. The above picture is of David's Tent, and is one my friend Nicholas took for davidstentdc.org !
America is privileged to be such a prosperous nation of incredible influence and opportunity. While much of the nation is trying to remove God from our great nation, we believe in drawing nearer to God and giving Him praise, honor and glory because He is beyond worthy! The least we can do is pour out our love and praises to Him from the center of our nation's capitol!
For I do not believe that we are prosperous because of our own ability and "brilliance", but it is because at one point we feared and served the Lord. So we worship Him not to get something from God, but we worship Him because He is deserving of the utmost praise.
I just read a passage of Leviticus that caused my heart to pause in awe of God. Leviticus 10:3 says: "Then Moses said to Aaron, 'This is what the Lord was speaking about when He said, "I must be respected as holy by those who come near me; before all the people I must be given honor." ' " Wow. Now the context of this was when Aaron's sons failed to obey God when they burned incense to Him, and thus were destroyed. So keep in mind this is part of the old covenant, and we have incredible grace. BUT this doesn't change the fact that God should be feared. The glory of the Lord is more than we can even imagine. God is All-powerful, He is glorious, and He is to be revered. It's a privilege to know God and be known by Him, and when we follow Him we need not ever be afraid. He simply desires relationship with us and intimate love.
So at David's Tent we are singing a 10,000 hour love song to the King of kings! No, I'm not personally singing all 10,000 hours! ;) I'm at David's Tent from 9 pm- 3 am and lead worship for anywhere from 40 minutes-3 hours a night. My heart comes alive, oh it comes alive.
There is so much more I can say, but I will be writing again soon! I want to write at least 1-2 times a week. :-)
