Last night I slept about 1 hour- I'm waiting to head to South Carolina in a little over 2 hours. I'm a little behind on writing and I just need to get something out. I've been thinking a bit about "waiting on God", and so I hope you are encouraged and strengthened, that you find yourself able to persevere and keep pressing on forward.
I've been thinking about the concept of "Waiting on God". Why does God ask us to wait sometimes? What is the purpose behind the intention of His timing?

A lot of times we think we know what's best. We have timelines, desires, guidelines, etc. for how we think things should work out and when we think they should be worked out by.
We want to walk a certain way when all of a sudden the door closes before us, sometimes it closing right as we are about to walk through it. The door being closed can hurt, it can be confusing, it can be trying, it can be all sorts of things BUT we need to remember that if it is God closing it- it is fully for our good. Also that, what God closes no man can open, and what He opens no man can close.
I know I've thought that I was ready for certain things, only to quickly realize how much more I needed the Lord to move in me, and how I still need Him to move in me. Sometimes we aren't ready for something and that is OKAY! God knows just what we need, and I have found that when He asks us to wait on Him, He is developing and growing something within us that is needing to be developed.
We have to learn to trust God. I have found no one more worthy of my trust than Jesus Himself. I have found no one whose motives are more pure than Jesus Himself. I have found no one who truly desires my best and will work ALL things out for my good, than Jesus Himself. I have found no one who loves me more than Jesus Himself.
Is it hard to wait? Oh my goodness, YES it is. Our culture is not one that promotes patience, but we have a culture that is focused on self and on the "now"/instant gratification. Time and money have grown in significance over the hearts of people themselves, but this is something that I believe can change. I just want to remind you that if you find yourself losing patience or struggling to wait on God, there is grace. There is always grace, mercy and unconditional love. I just want to encourage you to, day by day, allow the Lord to teach you how to walk with Him, talk with Him, lean on Him, wait on Him and love Him. Allow Him to remove what is hindering you so that you can walk in His fullness!
There is a saying that "good things come to those who wait", and I would say there is such truth and wisdom to this. Let me say- be sensitive to Holy Spirit. If He's telling you to move forward with something or to step into something, by all means GO AND DO IT. But if not, oh enjoy the journey and the process He is doing in you. He cares about your heart and He is not going to lead you into something you are not ready for, whether you believe you are ready or not. He straight up knows us better than we know ourselves, and so His will is truly the best for us. I can assure you that the wait is always worth it.
If you are waiting on the Lord for something- anything, really- please keep waiting on Him. He is not ignoring you, forsaking you, forgetting you or anything along those lines. He is right there with you in the midst of it all and you simply need to look to Him. Allow Him to work in your heart and to align you with Him. Trust Him and His timing, be amazed by His faithfulness to you. I do not want to see you step into anything prematurely- but if you do God will always meet you and take care of you, but there is such fulfillment in operating in alignment with God's will and timing. May the Lord give you clarity, peace and perseverance to wait on Him and to step into and receive the fullness that He has for you.
It's time to run to the airport- yay!! I love you all so much. I'll talk to you soon. :) Once again I'll say, the wait is always worth it- God can be fully trusted!
