Creating a blog has been a dream of mine for years. But I didn't want it to be just a blog so that I could blog, but I wanted it to be something meaningful, authentic, full of passion and life-bearing. I wanted a blog that would align you with our perfect Father, I wanted a blog that would give you a better idea of what's going on in my life, what I'm doing and why I'm doing what I do.
I wasn't sure what to call my blog and asked friends for suggestions, and what was decided is: "My Soul Says Yes". Firstly, my name is Yesica and sometimes people call me Yes. More importantly, I want to live a surrendered life and that starts with saying Yes to God, yesterday, today and forever.
I have been on a WILD adventure this year. I started 2015 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This year I had the privilege of living in Nepal, Kona/HI, Monrovia/CA, Kona/HI and now Washington, D.C.. It's been a blast.
God has done incredible work in my heart. I can honestly say I am not the same person that I was last year, and I'm definitely not the same person I was 2, 3, 4, 5 + years ago. I was broken, my dreams were dead, my hope was dim. But Jesus is faithful. He has restored me more than I though possible!
Something I've learned is the power of vulnerability, authentic love and genuine care for others. Some people think I'm soft-spoken and could be louder, but I think the softness of my voice does not mean I am weak or incapable. But rather I choose to adorn myself with gentleness, kindness, love, joy, hope, compassion and a quiet spirit.
You really are getting access into my life, heart and soul when you read my posts. To be honest, even as I am writing this post, I'm getting teary-eyed. This is a dream come true and yet it's a dream that is just beginning!
I believe if people genuinely knew who God was, they would not reject Him, turn away from Him, slander Him or do anything less than giving Him honor, glory, power and our all. I hope as well that through My Soul Says Yes you will find yourself meeting Jesus.
Take care, God bless and I look forward to writing my next post!!!
